Vintage, Classic & Muscle Car detail service pricing explained
Classic cars from the 1910's to the end of the 1970's are a totally different type of vehicle to modern vehicles
The main difference is in the large size of the bodies and the more rounded and very sharp lined bodies with alot of crevices and small areas
The main reason classic and vintage cars cost more to have their exterior's detailed via our paint care services is the time consuming task of masking all the sharp body lines which modern cars don't have much of or at all and the time required to polish or correct all the small areas, crevices and tight areas along with the extra long wider bonnet's, roof and boot sections
The cars of the 1970's in America and some in Australia were very long and feature more sharp lines and square panels as mentioned above
Regardless of whether the car has been restored and repainted or is original paint or a blend of both, we need to pay extra special care to those vehicles, mask up all the sharp body lines and edges, there is an area at the start of the bonnet where it meets the windscreen that requires two to four inch pads only and a DA or rotary polisher.
That is something that modern cars do not have. The time to do all that really adds up fast
We will always endeavour to provide our services at a very fair and reasonable price as well as achieving the the very best quality workmanship and results and giving you a great customer experience
Look at the two vehicles above. The Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 which we performed our Original Patina paint preservation service on has extremely sharp body lines and edges whereas the Ford FG Falcon is very round and flat and therefore much easier and quicker to detail. We rarely ever have to mask edges, only lower exterior trim etc
There are plenty of cars from the early, mid and late 20th century that are not as large and as complex as others
So therefore when quoting a detail for a potential customer, each vehicle is a different shape, has less or more damage than others and the more sharp lines and edges there are or complex curves and panel shapes, the more time it is going to take.
Due to the fact that vintage, classic and muscle cars are not brand new cars anymore, they need to be treated with a far higher level of care, extreme attention and focus in order to achieve great results safely and smartly
Older paint systems whether factory original or aftermarket from the 1950's to 1980's need totally different care and treatments applied them than brand new cars or cars from two to twenty years old
Most modern vehicles are very round with flat sides or only a few curvey areas and are easier, quicker and cheaper to detail.
We treat all vehicles like they are one of a kind, special and with the utmost care.
